For those players who are 12 and under that are interested in trying-out for the 2008 Connecticut Storm Program, it has been decided that you WILL be allowed to play Little League in addition to our team.  However, due to the fact that our elite teams will be playing a greater number of games than our program has previously played at the 12U age division, we will expect that the selected players make a FULL committment to our team.  That means that they will be required to attend ALL games (unless we are informed at the beginning of the season of a planned vacation, etc.), and should plan to attend at least one of the two scheduled practices each week. We expect to be playing games primarily on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but there could occassionally be a weekday game as well.  Players will be free to play on their local Little League team when we don't have games, but again, an effort should be made to attend at least one Storm practice/week as well.  Practices will generally be held on the same two days each week (some exceptions may occur).  Also, new this year, those players who are selected as pitchers for our team (they will be told early on in the season once we begin working-out) will NOT be allowed to pitch in Little League. The only exception to this rule will be if there is a week where we do not have any games scheduled.  Although, given the fact that we will be playing a lot of games, these weeks will be limited.

Players WILL be allowed to play on their district all-star team as well, and they WILL be allowed to pitch for the all-star team.  We will not play any games during the all-star period so as to allow them to do so. For those players that choose not to play Little League, or do not play on the all-star team, we will continue to practice.  We are extremely excited about this year's 12 and under season and are looking for players that are willing to make the committment that it takes to become a better ball player.  This means from a schedule stand-point, as well as working hard on an individual level to make adjustments and improve their game.

There will be an outline of the tentative schedule shortly.
Any player age 9-12 is welcome to try-out at our 12U age division. We will put together teams according to the turn-out that we get at the try-out and the ability level of the players.  This means we could possibly have a 10U, 11U, and 12U team this season.  The schedules will vary depending on whether they are elite or developmental teams.  Right now our 12U elite team will be attending the Cal Ripken Tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC the last week of the season! Last year our 11U team attended this tournament, and we were so impressed with it that we decided to have our 12U team go there this season.  You can visit: www.ripkenexperience.com for more information on this tournament.  Also, if you have not already done so, click on the link below to check out the apparel/equipment package our elite teams will receive this season!

We invite you to call The Strike Zone today to find out more about our 2008 CT Storm Program.  We will be holding an open house on January 6th from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. as well!
